In our ongoing quest to find a "local" bar, we finally found it at Buddy's. This little dive bar caters to the common working folks of the area and isn't packed with tourists. Drinks are cheap and they even featured a 4 for 1 well drink special for $5 while we were there. If you're looking for a game of pool or an unpretentious atmosphere, then this is your place.

This place is now called OCEANS. There is a new sign and everything. I'm not sure if it has new owners or if they just changed the name of the place. The outside is still the same and so is the inside. The same rough and tumble kind of crowd is hanging around near the entrance door. They all look like they all are staying right next door at the sands hotel. This is a creepy tee-pee area and I would not recommend any girl coming here alone at night or even during the day. It's weird because way across the parking lot at The Ocean Mall it's completely clean, safe, well lit with a crowd and great music. It's weird how a parking lot between the two can make that much of a difference. There is a sign on the " oceans " building and sands hotel building from the city developers that says it's about ready to be torn down and demolished. It's a huge banner that is white , hanging right above the entrance way to the old max and eddies restaurant entrance- so this building might not even be here for much longer.

The bartender here have me the wrong change. I know that sometimes you give the wrong bills once you start drinking but I just started. I came with ONLY (2) $20s and my Amex. I ordered two Bud Platinum. I gave her a $20.00 she came back with $2.50. I was like wtf. She INSISTED I gave her only 10.00$. Ugh. But I didn't even come with a $10.00 bill. Manager comes and was nice but tells me I have to wait until the bar closed and he doesn't know me from ... I tell him but look I have a $80,000 car parked outside you think $20.00 will break me? Naaaa... Then I said I gave this place 4 stars and was so happy until this crap. :( ugh Then someone who was above him..(I think possible owner) came and said "how much$20.00 here." And he gave it to me. Now the bartender has major attitude :( ugh people INCLUDING bartenders make mistakes. HONEST MISTAKES . I believed this to be an honest mistake. But the way she is acting is so ewww... Girl I'm not mad at you !!!

Now called oceans, totally new owner who takes more pride on how it looks, used to be smokey and run down, now the inside is clean with nice bar tables, free pool, and cheap drinks with several beers on tap. Bartender was nice and service was good. No smoking inside now is a huge plus, never had the food, but apparently it's available

Things were slightly hopping at the only bar open. Perfect for a woman on the search for a drink on a weeknight. A few people singing Karaoke. A few people on the dance floor. A bartender with a heave pour and witty banter. Definitely a place for regulars as everyone seemed to know everyone. Very friendly as almost everyone smiled or said, "hello" to this weary stranger who just wanted a place to rest her tuckus.

This place was SO much better when it was Buddy's. The new place "Oceans" has hired the absolute RUDEST, snottiest, most entitled, most pompous, most jerk off bartenders I've ever experienced. Ever. Worst Bartenders EVER. Can I make it more clear that their bartenders are terrible? Rude and mean and make it very clear to you that you will get served in THEIR time and in their time only. The long brown hair lady that was working Sunday night literally looked directly at me TWICE, then proceeded to go wash bar glasses before she would come service our end of the bar. (Which she never did... a rude tall man in a Broncos jersey did. Not much better.) Rude. The ONLY thing that is good about this place now is that it's now all non smoking inside. Get some staff that wants to make the place money. God knows I'll never be back. There are too many other places that I can get a cold beer with a smile.

I found this listing under KARAOKE - but find all the reviews deal with the place as a sports bar and not as a Karaoke joint - so here's my take. As others have posted, the name is now OCEANS. It has Karaoke with Johnny Vega on Wednesday night 9-1. We tried it last week. As others have posted, the staff is limited and rude. Our party of seven was ignored after we came in and sat down - apparently no table service; but the trip to the bar still took 15 minutes to get the one bartender to give us a round of drinks. Karaoke normally observes an etiquette - you give each singer an equal opportunity to sing and you don't hog the stage. Unfortunately Johnny Vega has his own thing - which was yelling, jumping around, playing really loud music, and singing every other song. In between, he had his regulars and favorites come up to the microphone then periodically called up someone from the list. It took a hour and a half to hear from the dozen singers who signed up, and things were going even slower when we gave up and left. I've been doing Karaoke in the Palm Beach area for almost a decade, and have seen quite a few KJs and singers. Good singers go to Karaoke in good places with good KJs -- OCEAN with Johnny Vega will not be one of them.

I always love visiting. This is my second review. They have stopped the indoor smoking which makes me want to visit even more. That.literally was the only down fall. If u like wings they have good wings. But they went from serving ten wings down to eight for same price. Thats a bummer.

It's now called "Oceans." My wife and I went on a Thursday and it was a s*** show in the best possible way. There were broken down alcoholics littered around the bar with someone passed out at a table. A large bar fly with two black eyes humped every man who came near her and got in a fight with a woman, later said to be an escort, over a customer. The band was pretty good, but the people watching was excellent. We went back on a Saturday night and the vibe was very different. The bar was filled with affluent guests from the nearby hotels. While the bad was excellent, the people watching was much less interesting.
